LED replacement bulbs for dash switches?

Does anyone know if LED light bulbs are made to replace the very small light bulbs that light the dash and switches on the older G's?

I'm looking for this for my 93 500GE's.

If yes, where can I find them?

Thanks in advance

Check with superbright LED's - they have a huge selection and have listed bulbs for almost every car (although not sure about dash bulbs).

It would be nice to know what bulb and current limiting resistor has been successfully used to duplicate the MB switch lighting.  A result that is dim, over-bright, off-color, etc would not be worth the work.

Re: LED replacement bulbs for dash switches?

Autometer sells good quality LED bulbs and I have had good success with them.

Re: LED replacement bulbs for dash switches?

Thanks everyone. I will look into these. I don't think I am going to take apart the switches and change to LED, way too much work and I'm not sure I won't just screw up some expensive switches.

I am going to look into changing the dash lighting to LED, which should be a much easier task.

I'll update on this later when I have time to try it. Currently I am having the interior, headliner, carpet and seats and door panels redone on my son's 500GE.

Thanks again.

Re: LED replacement bulbs for dash switches?

The autometer LED bulbs have proper resistors already fitted for 12 volt environment.

AGuess:

It is possible to replace the lamps behind the switches, too. This daunting task was performed on an AMG G-Wagen that went to a Russian client with 5,6L motor.

The interior was finished in bi-colour black and blue leather with blue-tinted "Swedish birch" wood.
