Ya, you could enlarge the hole to fit the small ashtray/ coin bin found on the late 90's 463

RE: Window Switch retainer clips

I will be replacing my lower console with one in better shape. The only difference is is my window switches are on the dash center console (on either side of the locker switches) and the new piece of lower console wood has the switches there. Now here is the problem. I was planning on just moving the switches to the new lower panel but the lower panel switches are smaller in size than the ones on the upper center dash. I wonder if the plug-in wiring is the same. I have the 2 smaller switches (they are the same as a 124 car).

Insite?

Re: Window Switch retainer clips

Hey Mark, you could use the switch holes on the upper console for aux lighting switches or something like that. Check Bram's switch option thread for many options including the "call hostess" switch icon.

The w124 window switches are the same as 90's 463 down low like in my G500. When I pull w124 switches in the junk yard, typically I will pull the plug and leave a 4-6 inch wiring tail attached. The wiring will certainly need customization and lengthening but should be pretty straight forward.

Thanks Eric for the confirmation. That is exactly what I did. I purchased a switches with the plug and wiring attached. Now just need to extend the wires to fit.
