KO2's. Never have I been a rush for a set of tires to wear out. It's going to be a while because my set of KO's are still good, and I don't drive much, far. Let's meet on April 4th 8:00AM at the Pep Boys in Calexico, CA. Please bring your passport, and we will work those KO's down to the belts...... Oh if only I could...I haven't been down on that side of the world since Oct 9, 2000 (Cabo). While in San Diego in 2007, driving a rental Volvo S80, my wife and I were tempted to cross the border-unfortunately we were traveling without our passports Edited by 94rover 3/31/2015 6:00 PM

The BFG AT KO2 285/65/18 has an 80 psi max pressure rating, which I wold like to avoid for a softer ride. So how low can I go before running into wear issues? The Yokohama Geolandar AT/S has a 60 psi rating, so may be better comfort wise? Off road performance is also a factor, with mud, snow, and ice on steep terrain, and I don't have experience with the Yokohama's. I run the BFG K/O 2's on the big truck, but its a one ton, so ride quality is definitely irrelevant. Thanks!!! R. Edited by rman 10/14/2015 3:56 PM

Thanks!!! R. I have the Yoko AT/S D rated LT tires, and run them at 32 psig in the front and 36 psig in the rear for normal lightly loaded conditions. When heavily loaded or pulling my karavan with its heavy tongue weight, I'll go to 34-36 psig in the front and 44 psig in the rear. For off-road, I'll drop them to 20-24 psig both front and rear. Wear is uniform and the ride is comfortable under all extremes.

I only have about 2k miles on them but so far so good. 80psi would be like riding in a WW1-era tank.

I like them. Better side grip than the older AT's. rman - 10/14/2015 12:51 PM Guys, at what pressure are you running these tires? Posts: 788 | Re: New boots on the ground..... there are some really nice MT's out now with plenty of siping and differentialy sized lug patterns. i dont bother with bfg AT's anymore. they cake in mud, and were useless and loud at 70% tread. when wet and locked, you look like a cat trying to bury a turd on a marble floor, and for the same cacophony, you can have real lugs. the evolution has been from BFG at's to BFG mt's to MT Baja Claw TTC, on a daily driver i wheel with. i have not regretted the moves.
