GE model vs K model??? What does this mean on the G55?

I am lost.

Please explain.

Also, are you currently running the Koni SPX shocks on your G55?
Are you still at a quarter to half turn on your FRONT shocks? Or did you back them off a bit?

GE is grant edition which was a limited run g55k with no options and all the stainless accessories included as standard with designo leather and paint and an emblem claiming to be one of 500.

The hard suspension was all from the shocks adding spring rate on all the Gs with the bad ride.

Their main springs were all soft.

This G is on raid konis not spxs about a third from full soft front and rear and white front springs with brown rears.

I run revo 2 tires 285-65-18 and the handling is way better than stock in all respects both on and of road.

Okay. Just for clarity, I believe the Grand Edition was only for 2005.
It was a G55K with ALL options to my knowledge.
I never recall the emblem claiming that the vehicle was "one of 500" having seen several. Maybe you are confusing this with the 500 GE...Of course, in the mid 1990s, GE referred to G-Class with Gasoline Engine, fuel injected. Einspritzen = fuel injected gas.

The grand edition that I have was sold as an 05 but it went in service in 06.
The grand editions where indeed a limited run that it was build after the 05 amgs where already in service.

Technically the Grand editions should have been 06 models looking at the dates being built but they were sold as 05.

They do have the emblem in the interior and they did only build 500 units like this and they were all loaded up not just the same with the outside GE sticker......which fades it's colors by the way in time and I care less.

On the other hand the quality of the stainless accessories are amazing and what I do love the most is the stainless steel skid plate underneath which has landed the whole weight of the vehicle on rocks and stay undamaged.

The emblem inside has a a three digit number on a silver plate in front of the shift stick attached to the wood
It says AMG on top Grand edition underneath and the number under that.
I will try to take a photo

To stay on subject on the post I was wrong ,there is only one way you can install the panhards properly and the poly does firm up the ride a little.
Nice to know I will never have to do this again.

RE: installing poly bushing on panhard rods

All I know is that my three year old son hums out loud when we are on the concrete slab freeway, because the ride is so rough it sounds like someone is patting him on the back rhythmically. The freeway is a bit rough. But this think rides like a semi truck. I slow down to a crawl for speed bumps that I take at full speed in the toureg or any other car. I can hit them fast in the G and it actually is not much rougher than going slow, but it seems cruel.

Maybe I will pull a rear shock out and have a look.

But this thing rides like a semi truck.

Let's not forget that it is a truck.

Hey I'm not complaining. The kids love it. Ridewise it is similar to the 1974 Chevy 3/4 ton I drove in high school with the 454.

It is just hard to tell from the Internet whether your shocks are bad.
