Eibach springs

Hi,

A friend was able to buy a junked 2004 G500 with B7 level armor VIN 4632481X137235. Due to security reasons the seller ( foreign embassy ) had to strip off everything that was armored. So basically it was without a body, doors and floors. It had the chassis, interior, seats and fenders.

It also has the rear stabilizers and the front diff's have reinforcement.

What interests me are the springs that were installed. It says Eibach 45/10. Does anybody know about these springs such as how stiff they are and would they add lift when installed . Are these the same as the ORC Eibach springs ?

Regards,

Nonong

RE: Eibach springs

Hey Nonong,

Good to hear from you again. Have you tried contacting Eibach about these springs? They might be able to help you. My guess is that they would not be suitable for use on a G-wagen of normal weight. They would probably result in the truck sitting a little higher, yes, but the ride would probably be very very harsh, and cornering and other maneuvers would result in loss of traction as the vehicle wouldn't have proper compliance to keep all the wheels in best contact with the ground. Off road work would be horrible with such low compliance.

All the best,

-Dave G.

RE: Eibach springs

Hi Dave,

Nice to hear from you too. Yes, I will try to send them an email. But by just looking at it, the spring diameter is a lot larger than what I have which is coded "white". I just though about the ORC springs due to its color. However I found some photos of the ORC spring but the markings are different.

Anyway, thanks for your input.

Regards,

Nonong

RE: Eibach springs

It says in the document that came with it, " Armored by Mercedes in Europe, level B7 armor".
