| Interior reading lamps for pre MBUSA G500
The reading lamps inside the g500 are not great, especially those 2 above the rear seats. Has anyone found an acceptable upgrade? Maybe LED?
Not talking about the cargo lights. I got Karl's LEDs for the cargo area and they are fantastic. |

I bought 2 cheap LED light strips about 6 inch in length and wired them in parallel of the reading lamps. I'll take a pic for you later. The lights come with double sided tape and I just stuck them on the Front Runner interior cargo net but you can just secure them on the headliner. |

I guess the reading-lamps is the same in a EU G400, I think I will pull the entire lamp tomorrow and try to figure something else out now I have LED's in the rears too .... |

I think ILIAN has the right idea by using the LED strips. However I think I'll try to place them inside the bulb housing. We'll see if it works.
@thebigblue I assumed all the 2002+ vehicles had a different and (possibly) better interior lamp design that the previous models. You will run into ECU problems, no? |

Nope, the interior lights is not supervised by the computer systems in my 2005. I just replaced the original bulbs in the cargo area with a similar LED, 1 min. job.
