Fuel Sender Compatibility

May someone verify if there are alternative part numbers to the Fuel Sender Unit for a 1997 G320?

I obtained from the dealer A0095426717.

Thank you

Re: Fuel Sender Compatibility

Not sure if the number is correct, but before changing it check connections. There is an access cover under the rear
carpet over the fuel tank. The connections are where most problems come from.

Hi Warren nice to see you here on the boards. Reminds me that I have to call you tomorrow about the foot for the roof rack.

I did check, but they seem fine, no weak wires and all connections are strong.

I received this part# from the dealer, however I only found one place in Russia referencing this number and my parts shop cannot find this equivalent part. I'm beginning to think it has an alternative part number. Anyone car to chime in?

RE: Fuel Sender Compatibility

What isn't the fuel sender doing correctly?  The guts of the thing are pretty simple.

Re: Fuel Sender Compatibility

Currently my car shows full tank no matter what the tank is at.

I've took apart the connections and put a resistor and the gauge indicated lower, currently my guess is the sender unit is broken or the conductor plate float arm is malfunctioning.

Re: Fuel Sender Compatibility

With a VIN, I can tell you what the P/N is from the factory.

Re: Fuel Sender Compatibility

Most likely that means that the internal slide wire is broken. If it is broken at the end, then it can (very gently) be soldered back on.  It is a fiddly operation with a low success rate.
