My G500 also has 168,000 miles! And has not given me much trouble except for countless window regulators and door lock actuators.
I had the bumpiness issue you described, and I was hiding it by replacing the steering damper more and more frequently. Last week I decided to put in brand new tie-rod and drag link (or whatever MB calls those), and now it drives like a new car. It is worth checking those. |

Hello Richard,
I was thinking about replacing the tie-rod eventually since I have 170,000 miles although I don't have any issue now.
Do you have the part# for drag link?
There are a couple of parts that are called drag link and I'm not sure which one you've replaced. |
