My daughter was driving home from her college graduation in Alabama and when she got to Atlanta, her 93 500GE started popping and stalling out. She was stranded and did not know where to turn. She called me and I reached out to these two members. Both H1LM002G55 and Dutch came to the rescue sending me information on shops to use. Blue Ridge Mercedes was 15 minutes from her location. So, last night at 10 PM, I called Jonathan as he was driving back from VA to GA and he told me to have the G at his shop by 8:30 AM today. I had it towed (AAA) last night. Jonathan and his staff were great. They figured out the problem's and fixed them. One was the ignition coil had a hole burned through the side of it, along with needing new spark plug's, wires, and a few other minor things. They had the parts in stock for the M117 engine, sent me pictures of the bad parts, texted with both me and my daughter and got her back on the road today with as she said, her engine running better than she can remember. He has also sent me a list of items that I need to take care of on her G. After four years of college it is time to show it some love also. So, I can't thank Jonathan and Blue Ridge Mercedes enough for making this Dad feel that his daughter was in good hands and can now safely travel the next 7 hours home. I can't thank H1LM002G55 and Dutch enough for taking the time to answer my emergency messages to them both last night, for sharing their contacts and allowing me to sleep last night knowing this problem could be taken care of today. This forum is more than just G's, it is friendships. Thanks again everyone. AGuess

AGuess If she was that close to BRMB, she was very close to our house, too; and could have had a free bed to stay the night.

She was lucky in that one of her friends from College lived close by and she stayed there for the night. I really appreciate all of your help. AGuess

Really a fantastic fountain of knowledge. He regularly supplies me with parts and has rebuilt my AMG fan clutch. My strategy now is to have two of everything so I buy a new part and often rebuild what I can so I have a spare on the shelf. Dutch has contributed longer (and more) than anyone I know to the G community (except for maybe Harald / 4x4ABC) and is a gentleman, scholar, and great friend. AGuess, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have taken the "vintage" G-Class plunge. I am glad I did, since I enjoy driving this 20+ year old vehicle more than any of the new Gs! I appreciate your friendship and am only sad that I did not take the plunge sooner! I am glad Jono was able to sort your daughter out. He is fantastic. Highly recommended to anyone in Atlanta and beyond...he ships to me regularly! Edited by H1LM002G55 5/16/2016 5:03 PM
