Battery is only a year old. And it's not like the car is trying to turn over and there isn't enough power from the battery. It won't even let me turn the key. I had one occasion where everything started up fine and then I pulled out 20 feet turned off the car and came back five minutes later and everything was dead / locked up. Last time that it happened I checked the battery connections and removed them and put them back in place and it seemed to reset the system and everything was working again. Since that time I haven't had it happen again, but once again so odd. Any idea what the cause could be? I feel like it's a security measure causing the car to shut down power. Or maybe I need a new alternator? But would a faulty alternator not allow you to turn the key and lose interior power? Thank you for any help. Edited by jd1234 8/26/2016 6:45 PM

You really need to put the STAR/Xentry system on the truck and read the codes; although without being able to turn on the key, that might be difficult. Just be sure to NOT take it to MB Manhattan.

Have you measured the power on the battery?

Thanks for the advice. I only took the car to MB in Manhattan once a few years ago for a service check up and they came back with some insane quote for work. One of them was $125 to change the wipers. I ran as fast as I could. I usually take the car to wolfgangs in NJ, but its not always the easiest to get back from. They are not MB retailer dealers like all dealerships in the country. They are not under the rule of MBUSA and have no affiliation to them other than the product.

Suffice it to say that the service by MB Manhattan, as posted by one of our members a while back, was far less than stellar. In fact, "jack leg" would probably be the best descriptor. It was echoed by others.
