How can you differentiate between Mercedes and Perrot Rear Drum Brakes?

I need to replace all the rear drum brake components on my 1987 Mercedes GE280 short wheel base. How can I tell if they're Mercedes or Perrot? My VIN is WDB46023217045283. I did notice there's a silver and blue seal on the backing plate that says Perrot, so I'm thinking they're Perrot. You can see it in one of the pictures I attached.

I think you're overreacting. Those brakes still have some life in them.

Since you're going to be buying parts anyway, I'd take it as an opportunity to get some "eat time" with your parts supplier of choice and let them guide you through getting the correct parts. Sean at Eurotruck Importers can certainly help. Vlad at fourbyfourclub too.

The Perrot brakes became more common on most GW after 1983.
The sticker says Perrot, translated from French to German and then to english it becomes Perrot - i.ie most likely it is Perrot.
Here are different spring kits from Eurotrucks, check what looks similar to yours.

Re: How can you differentiate between Mercedes and Perrot Rear Drum Brakes?

I rebuilt mine two years ago. Sean at Europa had everything that I needed. The job went smoothly, including new wheel cylinders, master cylinder, shoes, reground the drums, springs, etc. Actually a fun job. Tom
