| How can you differentiate between Mercedes and Perrot Rear Drum Brakes? I need to replace all the rear drum brake components on my 1987 Mercedes GE280 short wheel base. How can I tell if they're Mercedes or Perrot? My VIN is WDB46023217045283. I did notice there's a silver and blue seal on the backing plate that says Perrot, so I'm thinking they're Perrot. I think you're overreacting. Those brakes still have some life in them.  Since you're going to be buying parts anyway, I'd take it as an opportunity to get some "eat time" with your parts supplier of choice and let them guide you through getting the correct parts.
