As I have mentioned before, I've been on a quest to get back to "SPEC Sheet" Lubricants for my Vehicles. So far? Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee most ellusive Lubricant?? Transfer Case Oil for the VG150E Box !!! What has been even MORE disappointing?? Calling around to various Mercedes Authorized Dealers?? *NONE* of them carry.... or *EVEN USE* the specified Fluid!!! Crazy!! How in the heck can a Dealer *NOT* use the correct fluid?? Blows my mind... Don't get me wrong... the Fluid "IS" available, but ONLY in the 20 Liter Version, and they want ca. $600 USD for the bucket!!! Doooohhhhh!! After much Wailing, and Gnashing of Teeth, I decided to take a Back-Door Approach.. After snooping around on various sites, I found out that there is an 18 Wheeler which uses the Detroit Diesel D12 Transmission: Freightliner Cascadia Evolution. Well, come to find out?? Not only does Daimler-Benz OWN Freightliner? It also owns Detroit Diesel! Long story short.... I contacted my local Freightliner Dealer, and they had a 5 Gallon Bucket of the Detroit Diesel Transmission Synthetic 75W-90. The BONUS??? The 20 Quart Bucket cost me..... $60 Bucks!!! $3 a quart~!! Anyhoooo, I know this fluid has been discussed on numerous occasions... so I thought I would post my Diamond-in-the-Rough, Fantastic Find!! I'm about to change out my TC fluid, any chance you would like to sell me the required amount needed? This will help me of course and you recover some of the cost. I would consider purchasing a 20 quart container from your source but sitting on the unused portion for almost a decade, doesn't seem like a wise idea. Thanks for sharing once again.

Holds up really well in my experience compared to Mobil 1 LS. I don't think your Mobil Delvac 1 is the same as mobil delvac 1 transmission fluid MBT 75W-90. The waters get quite muddied when looking at various Brand Names, with very Similar Nomencature for several of their product lines. As I mentioned, I have searched high & low to find the EXACT Spec'd products, and they are NOT available in USA. If you have a source? PLEASE let us know!

There's Delvac 1 engine oil (5w40) and Delvac 1 gear oil (75w90). I've been using the gear oil in my 4Runner for ~140k miles. The Mobil 1 LS always smelled burned and was very black when drained. Delvac 1 gear oil continues to look clean and no burned smells after the same number of miles. Just my observation, I'm a fan. And it's fairly easy to find.
