Engine cut out

Recently my MY2005 G400 has begun to fail me, the engine just cuts out and I get a nice sample of 3 different faults in the display:
A ESP fault should not cut the engine IMO.

Any suggestions on this. Haven´t had the chance to put a computer on it yet. And what´s the display faulty all about? The coolant is also topped up; and coolant temp. around 80 degrees celcius.

After removing the key and let the truck sit for 5 to 10 min. it starts up again with no errors.

As you said, too many different warnings that are not engine related. Reminds me of when my battery voltage was too low. Didn't know the voltage was low driving during the day. One night all warnings appeared, even the headlamps where cutting in and out. A simple fix for me, a new battery. I hope it's a simple one for you.

That really does look like a voltage problem.  Your volt meter is telling you the voltage in one place.  As our vehicles age and get shaken up some of the connections can get weak.  Fuses, in particular, do age due to heating and cooling cycles.  Fuses are cheap in bulk.  I'd start by replacing all of them.  Also look at the ground points.  A single weak ground connection will typically generate numerous faults.

A voltmeter generally tells you what the alternator is producing around 14V? A VOM will read battery voltage at rest. In my case got a reading of 12.12V. Seems these trucks electronics need a maintained 12.5V minimum, with all lamps and accessories on, Alt doesn't seem to be able to catch up with the needs.

All-Right, I give in. I certainly have abused and bashed the girl around on rough terrain for extended periods in The Atlas mountains, Western Sahara and Iceland, and the clock just turned over at 330.000 km.

Read tons off different fault codes, ABS/ESP, steering angel sensor, EGR, Safety belts, coolant temperature and so forth; so must be as mess-up in the CAN-bus. I at one point slammed the passeger door and the engine just cut out....

Seems to be related to either wires, relays, computers or other stuff behind the glovebox.
We managed to have the engine cut out three times by moving the wires around a bit and touching plugs. Will clean all fuses, plugs and other stuff asap although theres no visible corrosion anywhere.

Voltage and batteries seems ok.

Being able to reproduce the problem is a huge diagnostic benefit.  If you do think it is a CAN problem I would suggest looking for wiring damage.

This can be done by tapping into the CAN bus (actually, you have more than one), and placing an ohm meter across the two lines.  No need to have the engine on.  Then shake the wires looking for any variation in the meter. Then do the same between each line and ground.  If you see any changes, then start isolating the parts of the  CAN bus until you can narrow down the location of the fault.  The fault could be inside of a module, but that is less likely than a loose connector or abraded cable.

Leaking windshield gasket, depositing water on the front SAM or nearby CANBUS connectors?
Very easy to access that area, look for any signs of water.

Just a quick update. Cleaned and checked all the connectors behind the glovebox. The car has been running fine after that. Not related to the battery then.
