Fascinating! All that was needed was electronic stability control and an additional airbox under the hood to make the engine meet emissions standards and the vehicle meet country standards.
Still no chance of being sold in the USA. And after all that these years, all the love letters to Mercedes and mbusa... still not available here. Time, hope and money lost.

A recent conversation with some MBUSA people indicated that their are hundreds if not more Mercedes diesels sitting in the Long Beach port awaiting MB release due to the diesel emissions fiasco caused by VW. My understanding is that MB is seriously considering scrapping diesels in the US altogether and sending these cars to Europe and/or worldwide for sale. |

I really like this one. 463 with load bed and some 461 trim.
I would consider the 461 cargo area mods, but it seems like too much work. |

Many people would like to have one but with a price tag around 100k when other maybe not so heavy duty but still useable pickps cost 35-55k the mathematic is pretty clear.
I am affraid the posh luxo AMG models became the priority of Daimler and they are no more interested in building and selling working Gs maybe except military models which are exempt from the emissions/pedestrian protection norms.
