Picture of what you are trying to mount would be helpful. My aftermarket camera is weather tight and mounted at the top of the license plate frame. I see some spare tire at the top of the image, but still a very good view.

I just installed Pearl Rear Vision. Wifi/bluetooth --- no wires. Cameras are solar powered. https://pearlauto.com/ Clearer, brighter and the view is night and day compared to oem. Plus it has back up warning tones. Love it. Edited by 03-Gwagen 10/26/2016 8:39 PM

Dutch, If your head unit can except bluetooth or wifi, $400 isn't cheaper than routing wiring for rearview camera? This leads to the question, what head unit are you using 03-Gwagen?

I like the idea and implementation of the pearl auto plate frame.. but, it would be illegal for me. State law since '09 reads '..the name of this state at the top of the license plate is not obscured.' Only thin top bezel plate frames are legal. Cover up the 'Arizona' and if pulled over for any reason your wallet is $135 lighter. Mu$t be for $afety or $omething..

I just got the Wireless camera from Garmin. Was thinking to mount it within the plastic box covering the rear windshield wiper mechanism. Anyone has tried this? The license plate frame is a good idea as well but I am concerned about how watertight it is, and with it getting covered with mud. Any ideas? Thanks, Ed
