2002 W463, power steering pump resealing?

Hi, Friends.

I have a new to me 2002 G500, and the power steering pump is leaking. Does anyone know of a shop that can reseal the pump, or a source for reman/rebuilt pumps?

Thank you!

Are you sure it is the pump and not the return hose.  I'm betting the return hose looks moist.  They are really cheap.  Just get generic PS return hose from the local McParts place.

Hmmm...I've had prior owner's shop tell me it was the seals on the pump, my PPI shop tell me same and my own current shop. Looks like I'll need to get on my back...and see if I can save myself some dough. Thank you, Alan. Assuming it is the pump seals, folks, any sources? Thanks!

Of course FourByFourClub has a PS pump seal kit. At least for the W460. They have everything.

I dont think it would be an at home reseal. However make sure its not the seal between the reservoir and the pump. My pump made a little noise when cold - replaced the reservoir which also has a filter and the noise went away. There is a seal that gets installed and I could see that leaking on an original 2002 pump.

You should replace the low pressure hose too.  If it isn't leaking yet, it will soon.  I'd suggest replacing the hose, thoroughly cleaning the area, and seeing where any new oil comes from.
