When mounting the auto-shifter directly to the transmission tunnel, it will be way too low for the console. I used to drive it for a while using a custom adapter plate (picture 1 and 2): From a 290GDT, I found the PN of the correct bracket for mounting the shifter on: (picture 3): And the cover plates for the mid console: (picture 4): Trying to find the correct position: (picture 5): After some more measuring, I made a cut out and cut down the edge where normal the shifter boot wraps around: (picture 6): More measuring with the cover plates in place: (picture 7): After determining the position, time to remove the black paint from the bottom area of the bracket and prime it with spot weld primer: (picture 8): Doing the same on those areas of the transmission tunnel: (picture 9): After first tag welds, looks like my shifter is nice and square in the correct position: (picture 10): Finalising the welds: (picture 11): Next week some pics of the finished result. Ran out of time and into sundown. You may also have to cut out the hole in the transmission tunnel a bit to clear the shifter lever from going from P to 2B. The auto shifter makes a larger swing from front to rear position, so need some extra space in that transmission tunnel hole. Gr. On mine the trim surround between the selector and the square piece does not fit properly. I see you have the correct shifter for 1st gear lockout. You have the 290 transmission also then? Diffs next?

On mine the trim surround between the selector and the square piece does not fit properly. I see you have the correct shifter for 1st gear lockout. You have the 290 transmission also then? Diffs next? Yes, I bought a driveline set incl. transmission and shifter from a G290DT at the time. Diff's is the final task, I got 3,72:1 ring and pinion sets, hoping to convert my 4,88:1 axles this summer. Rear axle is easy, front axle is quite some work, but I will share my finding when I get to it. gr. Bram

This may give you a mm or something. For more movement, you might want to reposition the nuthole in the shifter console that's welded to your transmission tunnel. gr. Bram

Sandblasting welds and weld area (picture 1). Primer after sandblasting (picture 2. Cutting away a bit of the tunnel soundproofing for the welded in transmission console (picture 3. Putting the mid-console back in place. I like the result (picture 4 and 5). The hole next to the shifter is where originally a Webasto controller was mounted. With my m110 gone, that gas Webasto is also gone. Have to think how to cover some time. Boy G - 2/27/2017 3:16 PM If I remember correctly my diffs are 4.11. I will check. Let me know what you got on your vehicle. I thought all G290DT were equal with the 3,72:1 diffs (41:11), maybe I'm wrong. gr. What is the cutout next to the shifter for? The hole next to the shifter is where originally a Webasto controller was mounted. I think it was there ex-factory. With my m110 gone, that gas Webasto is also gone. Have to think how to cover some time or buy another center console. Because of this cut-out, I felt comfortable cutting in this one as trial. gr. I think it was there ex-factory. gr. Bram That hole could be covered by a 460 radio block off plate. I had one in that position on my 460 to cover some aftermarket switch holes I eliminated. Really nice job with that shifter BTW Edited by otiswesty 3/7/2017 12:17 AM

A4606102631 Apparently, G's with iron box transmissions (711.11x) using the matching dogleg (Wolf) shifter, have got this bracket welded on their transmission tunnel as well. So I will need to do this do on my 300GD Kasten, as that one is ready for a 711.113 installation. gr. Bram
