Original grey for a 460?

I am considering RAL 7015 - slate grey for my current project. Was this ever used on a G? If not would anyone know what the closest would be?

I can only find old ponton greys on Google, but none that I like.

Maybe have a look at MB 7350 (Novagrau), close to RAL 7016 (edited to 7016).

Don't know if this was used on 460 G's, but I can remember some 461 G chassis in grey and then Novagrau would be my bet.

Re: Original grey for a 460?

Thanks Bram. As far as I can see the MB 7350 is lighter than my current choice??.

I can not find RAL 7106. Did you mean 7016? If so it is darker than my current choice.

Since I posted I see that some modern 463 s are offered in 7015 - slate grey. I am wondering if a matt / satin finish might not be more practical if I go for this colour. I dont like the result on a 463. Too bling for my taste.

Indeed, my mistake. MB 7350 is close to RAL 7016.

I think I was referring to chassis / frame colour, you're a thinking about body colour.
I can't say if this colour (either RAL 7015 or 7016) was used on body at some point.

ALthough mainly 460 paint, did you check this topic? http://pointedthree.com/disc/forums/showthread.php?tid=16796&posts=...

Re: Original grey for a 460?

Ja, i checked that thread thanks. I was hoping to see what a flat grey looks like in a picture.

Anyway I have just phoned the painter and I have decided to go with RAL 7015, even if it is not original. The pickup i have assembled is also not original.

I will show you when its done!

Sorry for my over-posting? I can't even delete those? Clubgwagen is soooo much easier to use. Anyhow: anthracite grey metallic db7172 is what I have. There is a photo on this thread of it. http://www.pointedthree.com/disc/forums/showthread.php?tid=16796&st...

Aah, it is yours. I stopped by on that thread to look at / admire it. I will do similar but will go non metallic, and a tone or two lighter.

My last 5 G's have been white. I am getting quite excited.

Re: Original grey for a 460?

The body is finished at the paint shop and I am really chuffed with the color. I finally used RAL 5008. The women in my life called me a colour blind fool - and only some of that statement is true I believe - so I changed at the last minute to something with a bit of blue in it.

It is a tiny shade darker than this one:

Apologies re no pictures of this extensive rebuild but I will put up a summary of it sometime when I get behind a picture resizer.

I've been using this one for years. Easy, fast and simple:
