Anyone can guess that color's code?

I have searched the web for hours and I haven't been able to find a decent match. Some color chips seems to match but then when I Google actual car pictures they're not close. I understand that color matching on a monitor is an almost impossible task but my goal was only to come up with a few candidates and test with paint samples. At this point, the best match I have found are Nautical Blue (DB929) and Ascot Blue (DB751) but I don't find them to be a very good match. I'm starting to think that this is not an original Mercedes Benz color.

During my lengthy search I found some interesting websites that I thought I would pass along: paintscratch.com and paintref.com. They provide list of colors by brand/year. The lists do not perfectly match each other but these were helpful to me.

RE: Anyone can guess that color's code?

It does look really nice. Unfortunately I do not know anything about the vehicle. But I will go to a pain shop and try to find a few colors that could match.

Thanks guys

Re: Anyone can guess that color's code?

@jmr : i believe, like me, JSP saw this G on this site. I believe he does not own this one and therefore cannot give the VIN or tone serial no. and so he asked here what we think the colour is.

@JSP : I went to the city today and I saw a very similar colour in a G300 Professional. They have two metallic colours, called Flint Grey and Tanzanite Blue.

RE: Anyone can guess that color's code?

Yes, sorry for the confusion, this is only a picture I saw online. I don't even know the model. The wheels don't look recent so I'm thinking it's probably not a new G300CDI but I could be wrong.

Re: Anyone can guess that color's code?

It almost certainly is not a Prof, but perhaps the colour might still be used. The Profs are metallic in this sort of colour.

I am now also curious, in fact curious enough to have delayed my paint shop!

RE: Anyone can guess that color's code?

Blue is a tricky color, especially this one. Depending on the light it can change a lot and that picture happens to show a blue that is just perfect. I stopped trying to find the exact color code of this picture. My feeling is that even if I had the exact color code the result wouldn't match what's on the picture. I think a better approach is just to try to find a blue grey that I like because now I have seen that a G in blue grey looks awesome!

Btw, I traced down another picture of a truck that has almost the same blue... if you compare the two pictures you may end up with the same conclusion as me: the two pictures show the same truck and the difference in the color is just a matter of light/angle/picture quality and so on. At least I couldn't find anything that is different between the two trucks. Here is the pciture.

Re: Anyone can guess that color's code?

Ja, I think it is the same colour if it is not the same G as you speculate. Nice.
