fourbyfourclub - buyer beware

I bought some parts from fourbyfourclub. One was a fuel pump relay which was DOA - dead on arrival.

fourbyfourclub does not seem to care, no reply after I requested a return label. See below

Howdy,

I am usually patient and polite, but I am still waiting for the return label.

I would even be willing to pay for the replacement if you send it right away and refund me when you receive the defective one

Oskar,

Thanks for the heads up. From the dates on the emails you posted, it would appear that your patience was a little bit short on expecting a reply. However, I'm glad you have it working in a positive direction.

Dutch,
I disagree with "patience a bit short" .. I for example run a WISP and all customer emails are answered within hours, not days. Problems solved ASAP. Without the customer having to threaten first.

And, honestly, when I buy something - why do I have to justify why I am buying a part? Also when I have a defective part (which happens) a vendor putting in question whether it is 'defective'

Anyways, I still hope we can resolve this amicable and quickly. I'd be happy to update the thread title as "solved"

Opening a private "dispute" to public inspection after less than 2 days seems a bit premature.

Not fair to compare your personal work to a small part shop run by one (maybe more but probably just one) person. Hope you get this resolved.

Especially in the case of a one man operation

that is not an excuse, sorry - I am for example full time employed and run the WISP service in addition to that as a one man operation.

Re: fourbyfourclub - buyer beware

i too have had a bad experience with Four By Four Club just recently. i put in an order andwaited weeks for it to arrive, then when i questioned where it was i was told it had been lost in the mail. he did not send me a tracking number as is advertised and to date has not offered any proof that the goods were sent at all. he did refund me but that is obviously a legal requirement. service is pretty rubbish in my view, i suspect the goods were never sent to start with.

i realise this is my first post but i have been a lurking for a while. i ended up purchasing from Guido and Eurotruck.

Re: fourbyfourclub - buyer beware

I'm sure something is keeping Vlad preoccupied..always had a direct line at any hour, for personal assistance of parts.
two weeks ago or so, he had a banner posted on 4by4 web page about taking leave until a certain date. I too left him a voice message three days ago, no reply.
I hope all is well with Vlad.
Best wishes V

Re: fourbyfourclub - buyer beware

well, I got a replacement.

However no return label - so obviously it is "expected" that the customer pays for return of broken parts.

Re: fourbyfourclub - buyer beware

I got a broken front license mount from Vlad a number of years ago. He sent a new one.

Why would he pay shipping to get a defective part back. My guess is that he does not want it.

That would the opposite of what he requested initially. I don't want to be catching bad press for not returning broken parts or something along those lines. Consequently, unless communicated otherwise I am going to return it.
