W463 Heated Front Windshield

My 1997 G's front heated Windshield cracked. Where can I get a replacement? What is the part number for this item?

As anyone imported one from Germany such as http://www.daparto.de/Frontscheibe/Merc ... ypeId=5454

Cheers,

Can they get that year only, no rain sensor or antenna?

With the right part number, they can get it. Are you sure it is heated? My 2000 G500 is not.

I've converted from non-heated to heated on my '02. Paid around 700 from dealer

Re: W463 Heated Front Windshield

I tried to get a less expensive one sent over. No one will do this because of the high risk of damage. I recommend going to the local MB dealer and ordering it. None of the online US wholesale parts dealers will ship this either. The pre2002 MB 463 heated windshield is about $1550, $1100 if you have a friend that is a glass guy or if you can get wholesale pricing.

I was able to get a windshield for my 1984 280GE shipped to me from Germany in 1986 or 87. It came into Atlanta by air on Sabena, all in one piece with no damage.

for a 280GE it is not a problem. I just needed one :-(. MB dealer surprising : $250 list and US stock

Versteh. I was only making the point that it was possible to ship from Germany without damage; and it was being done in the mid 80's. This was back when MBUSA dealers didn't even know what a Gwagen was.

No more.

Re: W463 Heated Front Windshield

My heated windshield supposedly came from Germany, it took two weeks to arrive at the dealer. It is also branded Pilkington and has the MB star on it.

The non heated windshield, I was also told was coming from Germany, but I suspect it was sourced in the USA.
