Transmissions that will fit my G?

My gearbox is no more. The car is a W461 290GD.

So.. having trouble finding any with the specific number that mine has (717.445), the engine is OM602.942
There are a few other boxes that I know would fit, for example 717.443, 717.439, 717.436 have all been used in the G from factory.
Also the iron boxes 711.110/-113/-116/-117 would be possible to fit.
However I have not been successful in finding any.
What I have access to are the following; 717.460 and the 717.441. Both from E-class.

Dose anyone know if any of these will fit?

Or perhaps tips on any other passenger car boxes that will fit?

Oh yes and the 717.420 I am aware of, not able to find that for sale either.

Re: Transmissions that will fit my G?

Both 717.460 and the 717.441 should fit, however:

Output flanges are different on E-class and G, but you can install your G flange in the E-class transmission.
The E-class won't have breather lines installed for water fording like G-tranny's have. It might be possible again to swap your 717.445 breather lines on the E-class box.

Both should have the starter on the left side, just like your 717.445 has. Same shift pattern as well.

(I thought Norway would have more G-parts and traders able to supply your list of transmissions).

Yours often pops up on Ebay.de. So yours is not rebuildable?

Give me a shout if you see one
Although I think it might be too expensive after shipping...

It`s rebuildable if I get the parts. 3rd and 4th gears plus the "sliding" sprocket that goes on the outside of them are broken.
I can`t find the parts available, and if I did, I think they would be too expensive to be worth putting into a 350000km box.

Re: Transmissions that will fit my G?

I have also found an Iron box, 711.110 from a T1 van.
I haven`t seen a picture yet so not sure if the starter is on the left on this..? Anyone?
The splines on the input are different, what parts will i need to overcome this issue?
The output flange is 6 hole pattern, hopefully I can simply replace it with my flange, which is 8 holes.
Any other issues with this swap you think?
I know it`s lower gear ratio, but think I will be OK, as i am fitting 33" wheels to it.
Think maybe shift pattern will be different, I will deal with it somehow.
Rods from gear stick to the box - wrong lengths?
