Accelerator Pedal Heavy When Engine is Cold

I'm not sure if this is sort of normal or not and I'd like to ask your opinions. Mostly in the morning, coming out of house, accelerator pedal is heavier and RPM revs up higher than the normal. RPM goes up to 2000 to maintain 20 to 25 MPH versus around 1500 during the day. Even when I am coming home from work after the truck's been parked all day, it drives fine. I have a no clue as to what to check first, and I'm not sure if it has anything to do with transmission when engine is cold. I can live with this issue since it only happens in the morning and everything else are fine. But I'd like to know if this is not normal, and I'd like fix it if I can. By the way, RPM is normal at idle and there is no vibration what so ever.
Thank you,

RE: Accelerator Pedal Heavy When Engine is Cold

The engine and transmission work together to warm up the car fast.  Part of that is holding gears a bit longer.  Cold oil is thick and will definitely make the engine feel sluggish.

RE: Accelerator Pedal Heavy When Engine is Cold

Thank you for the comments which makes me feel whole lot better. I'm just glad that it's a normal thing and will accept it as part of driving one with 190,000 miles.
