Anyone have a fuel additive they KNOW will not harm my 2003 G500? I am having some either misfire or fuel issues. My independent Mercedes shop has suggested HEET fuel additive but I am very leary of adding an aftermarket product. Any suggestions/advice/experience?

I have run just about everything on the shelf at some point. Mostly Chevron Techron though. What symptoms does your engine have and is the check engine light on?

Engine seems to stutter or misfire. Engine Check light always on because charcoal cannister in fuel line needs to be replace.

Consider running a https://www.toptiergas.com/ fuel vice the additives and buying from a higher volume station. The U.S. has a minimum detergent requirement and Top Tier requires a higher level. Ever since I changed over a long time ago I have not used additives and have not had to clean (CIS) or swap out a single injector. Not sure how it was determined that the charcoal canister is full of fuel. It should not be. When you fill your tank, if you add past the first time the handle stop the fill, you are risking some fuel getting tot he canister. There are a number of things that can cause a misfire. Any recent work related to spark plugs, coil packs, ignition leads, MAF, etc?

You need to drill down on what causes the light. There is a possibility that the cause of the light is the cause of your miss. I would pull the codes and have the cause of your engine light fixed. Only then can the actual quality of the engine performance be tested and questioned.
