EPCnet Being Replaced

Received this message when I signed on to the EPCnet today.

Dear EPC user,

As previously communicated, the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) will be gradually replaced by the new parts information from July to November 2018 and sundowned.
Please contact your EPC contact person for the precise point in time of the sundown and information on its successor solution.

Never had any "previously communicated" of which I'm aware. Anyone have any idea what the "new parts information" or the "successor solution" is?

RE: EPCnet Being Replaced

I got the same message the last time I logged in. I'd like to know who my "EPC contact person" is so that I can ask them what will be happening. I hope the EPC continues to be available to us mere mortals. I also hope they get away from a Java based implementation.

Re: EPCnet Being Replaced

No weird messages in European EPC. If the US EPC gets replaced by something worser, maybe that´s the way to go...

I paid 50 euro for my 1 year access last autumn, so maybe even cheaper than US...

In the US the subscription to the EPC-net is US$75/yr.

EPC Support Response

Here is the response from EPC Support:

Hello,

While EPCnet Online is indeed being replaced later this year, rest assured we will continue to offer a similar system in the future. The details have not yet been settled, but once they are, an announcement will go out. In the meantime, the present EPCnet Online application will continue to be available

Thank you,

EPCnet Online Support
