Hi all, Along the bottom moulding of my 93 SWB just above the sidesteps and just before the rear wheels, the moulding has a crease, its exactly the same on both sides. I would very much appreciate it if someone could tell me what might have caused this to happen. I will try and upload a couple photos. Cheers Sorry not able to load photo will try again

Difficult without picture. Logic dictates that if both sides are the same the annomoly is intentional modification to maybe fit custom side steps or skid rails. Could also be that molding was produced by aftermarket and for some reason that crease was deemed necessary or an acceptable flaw in a mold. I would not lose any hair over it. In time it will need repair or replacement if it does it's job.

TPONZ - 8/7/2018 2:15 PM Thanks Dutch, I am using a Mac and not flash at this at the best of time. I will seek help so that I can get these two small pics posted The File Attach function of the forum software is broken. There is nothing any of us can do until the absentee and mia webmaster fixes it; and I have no idea when/if that will be. There is a back door way to do so which requires posting the photos on another website; and, then, linking to them using html.

Ok so with the help of the guys from G-Wagen Register I now know what I am dealing with, The end caps on the moulding have steel inserts which rust over time expanding in size and so distorting the shape of the moulding. the main thing is that my sill underneath are mint, like new. So thinking that the moulding is made of metal thought I would try and straighten it, but no its plastic so I damaged further, it now has a big crack along the top. So my question, Where can I buy a pair of moulding strips for my G ? I will also use stainless screws when I put them back on as well as most of mine were rusty as.

The rocker mouldings are available from eurotruck, that’s where I got mine. You can also get them from your local dealership. They are plastic with an internal metal support. The metal on the inside, usually on the front and rear corners starts to rust and they bow out. They can’t be reshaped once they start to rust, deform. Edit: add link for W463 SWB partnumbers. http://www.pointedthree.com/disc/forums/showthread.php?tid=22861&po... Edited by Aircruiser 8/21/2018 10:18 AM
