I can feel the rear in and the front but once I have one wheel of the ground it wont move, which means the centre diff is not working. Where should I start to look for the fault.

I would check the vacuum lines in the system, as the center TC diff lock is purely vacuum operated. As mentioned elsewhere. there is a diaphragm or O-ring internal to the TC that also could have failed. Attached is a diagram of the system showing all the components. Hopefully, this may give you a hand in diagnosing your problem. The diaphragm is #23 in the exploded parts image. If you want the Part Number for your truck, send me your VIN by email. Posts: 555 | RE: diff locks on 463 problem I had this exact problem about 6 weeks ago and Dutch helped me track it down. Having checked the vacuum system from the pump to the TC I discovered the problem was in the TC bell housing. It turned out that the diaphragm (part no. 23 in Dutch's diagram) had split and would not hold a vacuum and thus the centre diff lock would not engage - buth the front and rear would. If you do a search you will see the trail of threads on this. Having replaced the diaphragm the problem was solved. I also replaced the 'O' ring (part no. 17) as well. Mike.

Could also mean you are too hard on the gas.
