I wonder where European MB's ultra high priced "special corrosion protection" KFM Type 30 antifreeze agent falls into the scheme of things. It is red colored as opposed to the usual orange. |

When I recently had the car for maintenance service they replaced the antifreeze (MB dealer). According to a scheme I have seen, my G500 should have the same antifreeze as most other MB:s, but the manager said they had to use another, special, antifreeze for the G500...? Took them another day to get and I had to rent a car for two days meanwhile. Has anybody heard about this before or is it something new? |

Was it the Type 30 Antifreeze? It is used when excessive aluminum corrosion is observed in the cooling system.
This was what they were advised by the maintenance scheme in their computers for my model, but I can not tell if it was Type 30. Maybe it is on the invoice which is in my car out in the rain, I´ll check tomorrow... |

Re the antifreeze, the MB nr is A000989082510, that is all I can read out of the invoice. It was 5 units (litres?) and the price about USD 100 + labour the same amount... |
