It was the first time I pulled an engine besides air-cooled VW's. Next comes digging the 617a out of the donor car. The plan is to have it come out in front of the rear wheels like a G55 rather than squeezing under the fuel tank. I left the gear box in place. | ||

Disco 2 Posts: 4398 | RE: Another succesful 617 extraction I allways find it is so much easier to lift both out together allowing the prop shaft to seperate on the splines having first carefully marked the position of same prior to parting. Most shops can create what you want from stock material. I have accumulated stock materal ready to be weilded inplace when the time comes. All that i need to add is a stainless muffler. 617 nonturbo. | ||
