Off Road in NZ

Went to an offroad adventure park today. They guy running it was so taken back by the G Wagon. He said that they had been running the place for over 20 years and had never had a single G turn up!!! I know there aren't very many of them here in NZ, but I would of thought at least some of them would of been there.
I had a great day and the owner loved having a G there

RE: Off Road in NZ

Hey Sean,

And again another great photo of your G-wagen in a beautiful spot. Sounds like you've had heaps of fun!

Whereabouts in NZ is this offroad park?

Regards,

Rick

Hi Rick

This one is just out of Auckland (North Island for those who have no idea ). It's on 500 acres including a section through native bush where I jumped out and snapped this shot.

Nice pic of your G in the jungle! It reminds me of places I have trekked through in Malaysia. How did your diffs do on the terrain?

AWESOME
We all had radio contact with the chap leading the tour. He is a qualified instructor so would tell you the best way to take on the terrain. It was funny - sometimes he would give the people in front of me really long explinations of how to get through and be very careful to stick to the right or you will get cross-axled and be stuck. Then he said 'and the G Wagon can just go straight through'.
The Maxxis Bighorn tyres were fantastic. They lost grip on really dry fine clay on a very steap hill - but all I had to do was lock the rear diff and away we went.
On another note the instructor is an engineer and has even designed a 4WD for military use. He said the G Wagon is one of the best 4WDs out there. A lot of people come to his adventure park with massive lift kits and huge tyres on their Japanesse trucks - but he said the G Wagon stock standard would beat them all. Interesting. He did come up with a valid point. Do you see the military putting lift kits and huge tyres on? Well certainly not down here for NZ conditions.
So my first real off-road adventure was great fun. Can't wait to go again
