Then I noticed the seller, and it is the same guy that is yet to come through on the deal on the 280 GE of mine that he was high bid on a couple of weeks ago. Just thought I might want to warn potential buyers that he was asking me if I had a transfer case for this truck (because the one in it was supposed to be bad) when he first started trying to back out of the deal on my truck. Notice the wheel chocks on each corner. I guess he could have found a transfer case since he last contacted me, and fixed the truck, but I would be very sceptical of this concidering how he has jerked me aroung on my G. Just trying to watch out for fellow G enthusiasts. Cheers, Ben

That price there, $ 7200 bux for a 1980 280GE... is that a fairly normal price? Another forum member mentioned buying a 1986 280GE for $ 20G. Is that fairly normal too? Thanks for the tip, Ben. I wasn't going to bid, but ebay and the internet is a very small world.

Also a major factor on what it is worth is the amount of rust the truck has. I've got a rusty SWB that I gave around $5200 for that has documentation of all repairs done in its life and it drives excellent, but good one's with no rust may be as much as $20K, a lot has to do withthe cost it takes to repair and maintain these beasts. Cheers, Ben Location in the world plays a big role in the price of an older G. What may be very expensive by European standards is probably not so expensive by US standards; and this is true by different amounts in all parts of the world.
