Windshield wiper failure

My wipers have been going further and further below their normal parked posistion. Upon inspection the wiper motor was completely loose I removed the cover above the drivers feet to gain access found 1 bolt and washer had completely fallen out the second was about to fall out and the third and last bolt was loose I put the bolts back in place.

This is very difficult to access from the drivers footwell can the wiper assembly be pulled from the engine side?

Should there have been lock tite or some other form of safety on such critical hardware?

Re: Windshield wiper failure

Better question might be what else they did not tighten appropriately as they were knocking these out at the factory in 02. This happened on my 02 with complete motor failure after self disconnecting from its moorings. Good luck.
