| Interior Light Replacement
Hi,
I just picked up a 2000 G500 from Atlanta this past weeked. Love the car. I have been looking for a G for about 2 years now.
There are a few minor things I need to fix, one of the problems being that the interior light bulb seems to be blown. I did a search on the old site and it said the complete housing slides over, but I can't seem to get it to budge.
Before I apply too much force, can anyone please tell me (or confirm) how to remove the interior light housing?

I cant help you on the light as I have a W460, but I must know....was this the silver one on Ebay awhile back ? I was curious as to the overall mechanical condition.

There are plastic clips holding in the drivers (left) side and spring clips holding in the right side. To remove, you push the assembly to the right side (compressing the spring clips). Then once you have cleared the plastic clips the left side can pull out towards you. |

Yes, it was the silver one on eBay. I am very happy with the car. A few minor issues, which I will probably have to post here on the forum to get help. Mechanically it is very sound, no issues that I have found. I guess keep watching for my posts if you want to know what is wrong with it.

OK, bulb was fine. Maybe a bad connection - seems to work now. Needed to pry a little on the left side with a putty knife to get the housing out. Install by sliding left side in first, then snap in right side.
