Kuzuki Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: Intercooler 617a Hi guys, have a question regarding the intercooler. Fitting one behind the grill would it still allow for enough airflow to the radiator without having overheating issues? Would be kind of a thight fit with th ac radiator installed? Would you mind posting some pertinent information from the ones you have? Inlet/Outlet diameter? tank size? Tube size, number of rows deep and high? These are a double-cross flow, right? Flow goes across the top, down the far tank, and back across the bottom, right? Also if you don't mind, how do they compare, size wise to the custom job in your red truck? It would be good information to have. I'm thinking of setting up an electronic temperature gauge with a number of inputs selectable. I often wonder what the ambient temp is out side, underhood, and at the turbo inlet. I should do that set-up and then I'd have some basis for deciding what, if anything, an intercooler could do for me. I don't know if it's due to the "ceramic" (this stuff is like Jet-hot) coating I did to the exhaust manifold or not, but my underhood temps seem to be really cool, even after long strenuous drives. On the same routes where my buddy with VW TDi retrofitted to his SIIA 88" says he can feel power going away as underhood temps go up, I don't get the same effects at all. I'd like to be able to quantify what's going on under there though.... DOH! There I go rambling again. Nice find Bill! And nothing beats a good road trip to pick up a vehicle. Did you drive it back home?.....editing now....I just saw the picces with it on the trailer.... Ye Pansies! :^))))) -Dave G Edited by hipine 12/19/2006 11:54 AM | ||
