So i got board and was playing under the highway again. The new orc spings and 33.5 " tires dont flex for crap. I guess i need to look into longer shocks and brake lines now. Note the clean undercarrage of the G

Why are you trying to get all of this flex out of a G? Buy something that is meant to be flexed. How's the steering wheel doing? Still off center?

Pitfalls of modern technology. It is more about constantly using the wrong words for the situation. Brake vs. Break, Great vs. Grate, Bored vs. Board and so on. |

My next G - my warranty runs out in 09, I figure I'll sell this one w/ 6 months of warranty left and get an 2009. By 09 the 550 engine should be offered w/ the 7 speed trans and the initial bugs worked out. There isn't enough difference between the 02s-07s to justify the huge hit I'll take on the 02. That is assuming they re-design the door/window mechanisms. If they don't fix the door/window fiasco I'm keeping the 2002 forever. It was modified by a SLR/Maybach tech as a result of some influence by the fine folks in Graz. Well over a year and my truck has been behaving like a Mercedes of old. Before that fix I was going through at least 1 door handle or window regulator every other month.

mb230's... i believe you... that's why you only corrected board/bored, and didn't mention his fexing issues. 
Also, I think yasu (diehardg) enters timed events with 35" tires so the v8 and bigger brakes come in handy.

some tips for more flex:
run rancho 9000 shocks on the front with 1" stem to hoop mount convertors on the bottom. The mounts give you another 1" shock length, and the shocks themselves. if anyone needs the part numbers, email me offline.
in the back run the 463 HD sachs. they are the longest throw.
In the front, remove the sway bar.
ok that should give you all the flex you can use, right up to the point of rubbing the shit out of your tires on the fenders
you will find that you will be able to get more flex out of the front than out of the rear.
Also, are the ORC springs progressive coils??? |
