Electrical Control Modules

Hi,

I am having a problem with the right front seat's electrical heater. I would like to remove the control modules from the box in the engine compartment to do some fault finding. It looks like all the wires and and modules should come out as a bundle. I removed two nuts, one on the front and and one on the right (Aft looking foward). Everything still seems nice and tight in there...

How many bolts hold that lot in there, and where are they?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I will take pics once I have it out to help the next home mechanic.

Regards,

Geo

RE: Electrical Control Modules

Just for completeness I will post a few pics.

The electronics are separated into two units. I only removed the front one. Only one nut needs to be removed. Disconnect all the connectors to the ECU. Pull straight up to get the mounting plate out. The complete module is held in with rubber grommets, which are fairly tight. So you have to apply a fair bit of force to get it out.

Also, the heated seats and the alarm system use identical parts for the relays, so you can swap them with each other to verify if the either is dead. Relay box part number is A 000 820 62 26.

Regards,

Geo
