2008 C-Class Brochure

http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-mercedes-benz-c-class-brochure/

"The official brochure for the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has surfaced over on the German Car Zone forums, and it reveals in full production glory the car that we've seen countless times in spy shots over the past year. "

Arrgh...crappy console/dash design!

Nice-looking sedan outside though IMHO

Also, I think the pop-up video is a mistake.  Ugh.

I've seen that dashboard somewhere before....

The Sebring looks better, and for 1/2 the price-- rear-wheel-drive isn't missed much. How is Chrysler getting the flack for all the bad stuff when it's so obviously the Germans?

We both know which is going to be more reliable, too I've heard horror stories about the w203, this one is only adding alother layer of technotrash on top of that, all while being a cheaper product with a higher price.

No thanks.

The 5-point grille they're using now... On a Mazda? Sure-- Acura? No doubt. Mercedes-Benz? It has absolutely no place. Period.

Also-- Couldn't they make the grille star just a little bit bigger? I'm not sure I can tell who made the automobile.

Re: 2008 C-Class Brochure

There are reason for the things you stated above. First of all, the big star in the grille. New (well, old really) EU(?) regulations require a certain amount of space between the engine and the hood for pedestrian safety. How do you do this? Raise the front of the hood. The new Jaguar XK has avoided this by adding 'airbags' at the rear of the hood that will deploy upon impact and raise the hood of the car an inch or two. This is just my guess, but I'm pretty it's right.

Have you read lately what measures Mercedes has gone through to make sure the C-Class is built well and will last many years of abuse? You should look into it sometime. Only time will tell. It's not even out yet.

There is something not right about that picture - Mercedes Benz only have grill-mounted stars on their sports cars and commercial vehicles. You will notice in the interior photos you can see the (correctly positioned) hood-star through the windscreen.

Which picture are you referring to? The new C will use both the traditional grille and the sports grille. The Sports grille will obviously be used on the sport models. I think in Australia the sport model is the Avantgarde...and another one, I forget.
