It is a lifting bracket for removing the engine.

It does not look strong enough? Surely one uses the hook on intermediate flange to lift engine - its easily available.

The steel bracket 131 is strong enough. It is used with 122 on the front of the motor. The loop on the intermediate flange is not a safe lifting point for the motor, it is an alloy flange.

Its designed to be used with a lifting beam that has an extension to the loop on the plate, very useful in original assembly when engine and transmission go in as a pack.
