Bluetooth pucks?

Did a search query "bluetooth" and came up with nothing. Sorry if this topic has been covered already on here...

What are my options in integrating Bluetooth into my 2002 G500? I do not have the phone cradel (just the wire? in my center console). I know there has been mention of a few aftermarket "pucks" that allow you to utilize various phones (I have an smart-phone and a Ericsson 550c) but I'm wondering how seamless the integration is? Can I dial via COMAND? Will sound only come out of one speaker (center or front left usually) or can I tap into the entire stereo system (to play music instead of using a separate iPod hookup)? Which are the most popular brands?

My stereo shop here recommended a brand called "Parot" but it cannot function with the COMAND unit and seems pretty barebones. Anything else out there?

Re: Bluetooth pucks?

I have the setup with the bluetooth puck. It works very well and is integrated into the phone system, completely. It will even download the phone book with a motorola q phone. will not downloadphonebook with ericsson. look up www.wireless4mb.com. you will need to buy the cradle and the puck.

RE: Bluetooth pucks?

I'm not sure if the puck will work on the '02. You would need to first install the phone kit which = $$$$$.
The best bet is to check with your dealer. They will be able to tell you exactly what would be needed and the costs involved.

RE: Bluetooth pucks?

I have the V60 "puck" set up in my '02 G500, howver the car was wa wired for a phone. My system works just fine. If you have everything installed but the puck, you can purchase the puck from the dealer.

Re: Bluetooth pucks?

I believe that on all G from MBUSA there is the wiring already. The question is the cradle. The cradle and the puck (2 separate pieces) can be purchased through a dealer. I have had the voice and the cradle in all G's and have been very happy with the service of www.wireless4mb.com as I simply call, give credit card and receive my plug and play without paying anything but shipping charges. My last dealer extravaganza....well, you know what, even I am tired of hearing about it. Let me say that I will do anything, ANYTHING to avoid going to the dealers. Good luck.
