I have accessed the 2 small bolts in the radio aperture and the small cubby hole at the bottom but can not figure out how the top is attached and am reluctant to put anymore force on it. I only have half the heater control lights working so I need to change some of the small instrument lamps. Thanks in advance

Underneath the wheel is a small screw in the wooden bar above the center console. Take a screwdriver and remove the wooden bar by pulling it with the screwdriver (caution) to the inside. Under the bar are 3 scres that you'll need to remove. http://www.gwagen.de/downloadable_files/Mittelkonsole.pdf RGDS Klaus

The cut cannot be seen and makes future work very easy. To assure that the strip lines up perfectly, glue the screw into it's original position in the dash.
