I just signed up over at Benzworld as well. Where Does one beging the search for a 300GD? Not a common car in Northern California. As for me, I just unloaded a LX 450 and went back to driving my old Scout. The G Class is a great compromise between an old ruged design and fancy bells and whistles. Are there any G events in Northern California?

From what I understand the only 300GDs you are going to find over there with the exception of maybe three G300 TDs are all going to pretty much be 460s. These are quite basic - the bells and whistles appear in the 463s and 463 diesels in the US are about as rare as hen's teeth. Just a thought...

So I might be resigned to a gas model, if I'm looking for some modern amenities. That seems to be the difficulty for me. Finding the right model and being able to properly identify it. It also seems I'm in a holding pattern anyways with the lack of product on the market. Thanks Maxwell.

Sean's last line "Thanks Maxwell" made me think his name was Maxwell as well - and I answered him. But it was not Maxwell saying "thanks" in general, it was Sean saying "thanks" to Maxwell.

Ahh the confusion of it all. But I would be interested to know how many diesel 463s are floating around North America.... anybody hazard a guess?
