Webasto

We always think of auxiliary heaters when we hear the name "Webasto"; but did you know that they make automotive sun roofs, too - among other automotive items?

One of my customers here in Georgia is in the 24/7 overtime mode to anodize the rails for the Webasto sunroof plant in South Carolina.

The ones my customer is doing are going into a Ford, I think.

Re: Webasto

Webasto sunroofs have been in Mercedes vehicles for a long time. The company also produces some other interesting things like a heater for the windscreen washer fluid.

Ah - the Webasto Hotshot... Has anyone tried that? It seems very interesting as a concept...

RE: Webasto

Some of the W463 sunroof parts have "Webasto" moulded into them. After "popping up" the sunroof into a poorly placed roof rack bar I got a chance to inspect them closely .

Re: Webasto

I saw a LWB G once where the entire roof was a webasto sunroof - quite cool. I think it was a special order for some NGO in Africa if I recall.

RE: Webasto

I haven't seen them myself but I've been told that Webasto makes or made a diesel heater for boats that sounds alot like the one in the G.

Webasto Website

Here's a link to their website:

http://www.webasto-us.com/company/en/company.html

Lots of very interesting things, including Marine heating and air conditioning systems. A lot of stuff!

(And here I thought that all they made was the automotive auxiliary heaters.)

RE: Webasto

My maroon 280GE SWB (the BB special ) that was customized long ago has a 3/4 lenght webasto sliding canvas sunroof, it is pretty cool although I haven't had the G long enough to enjoy it.
