Disco 2 Posts: 4398 | Odd running problem on 360 GD Auto 360 GD starts great, during warm up goes on to misfire as if flooded and smokes like excess fuel. increase in revs clears it, When driving runs fine but if you stop quickly from highish revs again goes into misfire as if flooded and smokes. if you slow down gradually no problems. Done all ussual to no result, suspect injector pump, any previous experience out there of this defect?

Don't want to miss it by ASS-U-ME - ing anything. Got a cool exhaust runner telling you if the miss is a single cylinder or multiples? -Dave G.

Did you see if advancing it a little helps? Root cause could be in the pump indeed, but either pressure or timing can cause that kind of thing. If a slight timing adjustment doesn't help it, I'd check the injector sprays on and off the pump to diagnose a pressure problem leading to bad atomization (and have gone through the usual suspects upstream like filters and potential leaks letting air in). -Dave G.

What is the History? Get the valve clearances checked out first, if all other basics have been competently done. Regards, Rakesh K Anand
