It does send chills down one's spine. While not Navy, one of my childhood friends is a USAF F16 Viper Demonstration Pilot, Randy Efferson. We spent 20 years growing up just a few houses apart...huntin, fishin, 4-wheelin, flyin, fight'n and throwing mud-clods at each other (hey, it's East Tennesse!). Hearing that news Saturday just made me realize all over again how small the world really is, how incredibly close our true friends truly are, and how much we owe to the so very few that selflessly pay with thier lives to protect our freedoms. For me I have volunteered to stay here in Iraq for another year, we have a country that is defended by outstanding military personnel and that is what makes this country great! I am honored to have served in the same military as your friend in the capacity of a fellow comrade in arms! Respectfully, James Van Thach Edited by James_Van_Thach 4/24/2007 3:01 PM | ||
