Posts: 850 | RE: 460 Power take off Before I fitted the 711.116 "Granny" gearbox I was interested to get me a PTO for my hydraulic winch, so I kept the picture, but now with the "granny gear"I don't need the PTO. amzimmy

Posts: 686 | Re: 460 Power take off I have a PTO fitted to my 280 to run the hydraulics winches. the pto cost me £600 and the gear £80, 8 years ago. there easy to fit. if you look at the transfer epc there is a spacer, no 34, this is removed when you dismantle the t/case and you replace this spacer with the gear no 8 on the pto epc, then just bolt on the pto case straight onto the t/case, what is a pain is trying to get the right postion for the lever, there is two types of lever because there were two types of pto, one for the early t/case and one for the later t/case, see the different end case no's 59 and 60, the mounts were different. you can see there are two flanges on the pto, however you can only use the rear to attach a pump or shaft as there is no room to fit anything on the front one. Nice diagrams on how to R&R the W463 PTO. Problem is they are a bit like unicorns, I've never actually seen one Oh, and to save you some time. It isn't in the EPC either. Yes, I know. The aggravating part is that somewhere in an engineers drawer in Graz there are two or three of the prototypes. They PTO would not have gotten into the repair manual if it hadn't been built and tested.
