RE: Brabus V12

I have always loved the V12 Benz engines, ever since I had my first S600. And the SL600's are a blast . I would love to have a v12 G, although those engines are a bear to work on.

Cheers,
Ben

Not bad... that's three and a half times as much as a 500 BHP- G55K

You must have money to burn and the will to show it to buy that G.

Isn't that the G that the German media dubbed the "Flying Coffin"?

RE: Brabus V12

There is something about the V12 push though... A friend of mine drove a S600 Biturbo from Norway to Spain and back and swore he never had it over 3000RPM no matter what speed. Cruising gently and slowly along at 200km/h... Also, 1000Nm worth of torque is handy for pulling up those old fruit tree roots in the back yard.

RE: Brabus V12

That's what I thought too, but the other pics show the interior and the switches for the 3 lockers... I wouldn't think that Brabus would leave switches that did not do anything, but I've been wrong before.

Cheers,
Ben

RE: Brabus V12

The V12 is full time 4WD like all other 463. The story actually refers to the practise to lock the center diff (on pavement - yikes!) to achieve the acceleration from 0-100 in fourpointsomething seconds. If the center diff is not locked, ESP will interfere heavily and foul up your attempt to get a ticket faster than the other guys.

Article also mentions that the V12 is only kinda good going fast in a straight line (it sucked in fast turns) - and even that is so marginal at higher speeds that top speed is governed (240 kmh) to keep the driver out of trouble.

I know from Brabus that they sell more of those things than they can build (lotsa money in Russia).

Re: Brabus V12

Nice car car this V12, but has anybody ever seen one other than at a motor show? Seems very rare, I ve been looking for some real life photos, but found nothing. How many of them do exist? Are they all in Russia?

RE: Brabus V12

My mate Gordon owned and drove one around LA for a while. He said it was an absolute beast and one of the best cars he has ever owned BUT it could not drive past a gas station and he eventually got rid of it because he could not resist the temptation to push the go button hard every time he drove it.

Re: Brabus V12

On the old forum there was somebody with a Brabus from California, but that car was a V8. Your mate s car was a V12? Do you have any photos?
