Travelling to NY and search function

Not too long ago there were some posts on things to do in NY but for the life of me I can't find them using the search feature. Has anyone else had this problem with the search not turning up something you know is there?!?

If not do people mind firing back those suggestions?

Also if anyone in NY has time for drink the end of next week then let me know. But from what I hear of NYers I know I'm asking a lot!

And for the best view, http://www.topoftherocknyc.com/

View is actually better than the ESB--for one thing, you can see the ESB

Also, the adjacent Rainbow Room is great for drinks

Thanks MarcO - I think there was also some deli or something that you said was unmissable in the other post?

Marsden - ok thanks - just wanted to make sure my mind wasn't playing tricks on me! We've got the same problems on the UK forums though...

Re: Travelling to NY and search function

The Carnagie Deli
The Stage Deli
And while you are at it Carnagie Hall (practice, practice, practice ... bad joke).

Also Peter Luger's in Brooklyn for steak but being cash as they take no credit cards. Regarding Rainbow Room view is great but it is very mediocre otherwise jmho. Very tourist filled.

Re: Travelling to NY and search function

Last time I was in NYC, I actually did the tourist bit and took the ferry to Ellis and Statue of Liberty. Nice view from the water and neat museum on Ellis. Rock Center, 5th Avenue and Times Square were also time consuming, but interesting shopping. Definitely get a subway day pass and use it. Taxis are was expensive and I found the subway fast and safe once you learn the system.

Thanks MarcO - will check them out.

Thanks Will - but unfortunately as I am only there for two days on business I probably won't be straying too far from the centre.
