That design is utterly silly. Stick a lot of wires in the only place that is sure to get bent and creased 10 times a day. Good new is it looks like if you wanted to you could cut them all and extend them so it will be easier to fix. My lick it would have done that at the connector. If it makes you feel better my supra had the same problem, results of a hungary mouse..

Vlad was offering an upgrade kit that moves the wiring from out the back of the body and into the back of the door to hidden in the jam like the late 463 trucks. I think the upgrade has a tensioner of some sort to allow movement of the loom without the sharp bending on our doors. My plan is to buy the related parts and drill the holes and change it to the late style. This will leave two exposed holes, one on the body and one on the door that can be plugged untill they can be closed properly at a body shop. When I have time I'll try to find a link to the upgrade kit. I've always looked at that little loop of wiring feeding the rear door a bit sideways. First the defogger stopped working and now the rear wiper....Can you hear me Major Tom? -Dai Edited by dai 5/9/2007 11:49 AM

I just made new cabels for the central locking system, wiper and window heating... and bought all the plastic things... (but forgot the spring) but it works nice.. no prob. Good luck! (upgrade kit that moves the wiring from out the back of the body and into the back of the door to hidden in the jam like the late 463 trucks) isn't that standar on 460 from about year 1986?

Spliced about half of the cables before the wife hijacked the car. No more jumpy temp and tank gauge. Central lock is still dead though. I can hear the relay click in the driver door but the signal is cut off somewhere, probbaly one of the severed wires in the back. I also traced 2 blown fuses that I have no idea as to functionality. Not original though as they are spade types and dangling from under the dash.
