| interior pics... Hi, Here are some pics of the new interior... I have included some "before" pics... I had: The roof insulated headliner covered visors covered all panels died floor insulated full carpet seat recovered with heavey duty fabric entire interior cleaned, stripped, painted as appropriate windows tinted all around... $2700... I think it was a good deal... alot of work. Yep, That was probably some sort of Military or Police G, I had one like that, the front doors have MP5 holders (the door pockets), a rifle compartment that folds down over the rear seat out of the headliner, and a gunner's hatch (gotta love that  ). Ahh yes, a BGS, or Bundesgrenzeschutz,"German Border Patrol" a cold war era vehicle was initialy conceived to patrol the West/East German border, never produced in diesel to avoid the obvious in cold winters, fitted also with a webasto engine and cabin heating system that included a heated screen de icing system. The door weapon boxes were to retain the H&K MP45A the overhead was to carry a crowd dispersal weapon, tear gas rubber bullets etc. there should also be rifle retaning clips in both rear corners. The "gun mount" in front of the observation turret is in fact a position for a rotating blue light and siren. some were adapted by UK and US NATO forces for special ops and covert inteligence duties, used also post 1990 in Bosnia and Serbia. The rear bench seat is incorrect as it does not allow access to the hatch from the rear, they where always built with six individual seats. there should also be tool boxes under the centre single seats to carry tools andf snow chains. there must also be an ariel point on the roof as the lid box on top of the dash is to retain a radio telephone. Disco 2 Posts: 4398 | RE: interior pics... jcaine - 5/13/2007 4:14 AM mine also has mutiple 2 hole mounting points interior and exterior that appear to be mounting holes for grills of some sort over the windows and separating the rear compartment from the the rear and front passenger areas... like a modern day police suburban or prisoner carrying vehicle...??? These are to fit anti riot or anti blast grills, I notice you too have the chrome brackets around the windows, these are to fit black out curtains for covert photo ops. The G in cold war service has a short but excellent history, There is an example in the US Inteligence museum in Arizona (only recently unearthed by a member) I have recently restored the only surviving BRIXMIS version which a member of this forom actually used in service "I'm sure he will chip in shortly" and I rescued a BGS version from Bosnia where it was about to be scrapped, I had lots and lots of LRs when I was in service along with a number of uniquily adapted vehicles but non quite connected like the G. It really is my passion.
