The leak was so bad it would drip, not just sweat a little. I once measured the biggest drip point to shed about 1 litre of diesel over 24 hours. I would leave small puddles everywhwere and my driveway smells like a gas station. I found another tank in very good shape and am in the process of cleaning and rust-proofing it. A few days ago my wife congratuleted me for finally swapping out the old one, only I hadn't done it... The leak has mysteriously stopped. I have not disassembled the ex-leaky tank yet so I do not know where the leak came from. Is it possible that a blocked vent line or something like that could have caused blowback or anything? Could a hose have gone dry during the 1,5 years of hibernation and now have swelled up to fit? I had to chase spiders from the turbo so I'm not convinced that my vent lines are pest-free and unclogged. I'm puzzled, because it has been leaking badly for 5 months, and now it's not leaking at all. I guess I should pull the tank anyways but I'd thought I'd check the vents first

Its about the consistency of double cream, you slosh it around the tank and it coats the interior. I did mine about 3yrs ago and it’s been perfect. Edited by BusBar 5/11/2007 1:09 PM

I replaced all mine by snaking them through to where they were connected to the hard lines. Without removing the tank. This was where mine was leaking from.
